Miller Outdoor Theater hosts Summer Symphony Nights.

Water Play at Kinder Lake

Families can kayak the shallow Kinder Lake at Discovery Green. Kayak rentals are provided by Bayou City Adventures and subject to weather conditions.

Houston Symphony: Summer Symphony Nights

A summer tradition, these music-filled, family-friendly evenings at Miller Outdoor Theatre showcase local, national and international soloists and conductors, alongside symphony musicians.

When: 8:30 p.m. July 1-2 and July 8-9

Sample plant-based foods and drinks from around the nation. Festivities include live music, a chef competition, a roller-skating area, a fireworks show, yoga and meditation.

When: 2-10 p.m. July 3

Where: The Raven Tower, 310 North

The annual event celebrates its 20th year anniversary with a free street parade with dancers, stilt walkers, steel drums and floats, followed by a festival with Caribbean food, arts and crafts and entertainment at the GSH Event Center.

The Broadway adaptation of Disney’s classic film “Frozen” brings Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven to the Hobby Center stage.

Summer Break at the Museum

Every Thursday in July, families are invited to Summer Break at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, to explore the works of art in the exhibitions and installations and discover objects that embrace every era of history across the globe. Kids can make their own art in the pop-up studio and sketch an object on display in the galleries.

Discovery Days: Pleased to Eat You!

Discover what local animals eat and how to classify them as herbivores, carnivores or omnivores at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. This workshop is for ages 5 to 10.

Kemah Boardwalk hosts live music featuring local Tejano bands.

When: 8-9:30 p.m. July 3

Magicians. jugglers and strolling characters will entertain the crowd at Sugar Land Town Square with creative costumes and tricks .
