Houston-based metal building manufacturer, Whirlwind Steel Buildings partnered with Three Square Design Group and Camden Construction Inc. to create a new 19,000-square-foot complex for local craft brewery, Karbach Brewing Company. The completed brewery space allows Karbach to produce 60,000 barrels of beer per year while tripling its guest capacity.
The new annex houses a brew house, kitchen and public space for a tap room and restaurant, along with a 5,000-square-foot second floor for special events. The complex’s primary building measures 78’ by 64’ by 30’-6” and features a 1:12 roof slope and a single slope rigid frame. The second structure runs 15’ by 43’ by 25’ with a 1:12 roof slope and a single slope lean-to frame. The main building’s Kynar finish, Solar White roof is Energy Star-compliant and certified by the Cool Roof Rating Council, while the Hawaiian Blue walls are sheeted with Whirlwind’s 26ga Low Rib X profile panels.
According to Whirlwind Steel President Ty Sturdivant, the new Karbach facility offered an exciting opportunity to collaborate on the design and manufacturing of a multipurpose structure: “Our team is committed to providing increased functionality through enhanced building design and development.
