Leonard Finch is wanted for murder in the death of Mark Kevin Bruckler II, deputies say

An Upstate man is wanted on a murder charge after shooting and killing a man and then having his mom help him get away, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened Sunday morning at the Phillips Mobile Home Park on Union Highway.

According to the coroner, Mark Kevin Bruckler II was shot during an argument.

Investigators said Bruckler and Leonard Herbert Finch got in an argument and Finch shot Bruckler and left.

According to investigators, Finch's mom, Sheila Mayfield Finch, helped him leave the scene.

She is charged with accessory after the fact of a felony and has been arrested.

"Investigators recovered the weapon at the scene; however, our murder suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, a news release from the sheriff's office said. "This is not a random act of violence in the community."

Anyone with information about where Finch may be is asked to call investigator Logan Heintzel at 864-489-4722, ext. 120.

Investigators said the pictures above are Finch. They said he most recently had long hair but has shaved it in the past.

"He can cut and shave his head but the tattoos under each eye and on his neck easily give him away," the news release said.
